Signed & Numbered Limited Edition 199/2000 Serigraph/Lithograph (20"w x27"h)
Alex Corbbrey was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is a third-generation artist. He attended Oklahoma State
University and Chinourd Art Institute, Los Angeles. In addition to his prints, he is known for his work in acrylics, oils, watercolors, and pastels, as well as pen and ink. He studied with Charles White, and has made significant contributions to the
drypoint process and is one of the greatest and most celebrated African-American artists of the 20th Century.
Following the example of such early twentieth-century Cubists as Picasso and Braque, Alex Corbbrey dissects his image
into a series of block-like shapes. Corbbrey's mosaic-like prints often invite the viewer to decipher the image and the story being told.
