Limited Edition Lithograph: 66/120, signed in pencil

Jean Léon Jansem, French, b. 1920 in Bursa, now Turkey but considers himself a French national, his preferred
nationality. This superb Lithograph measures 16"w x 19"h (41cm x 49cm) and is signed and numbered in pencil. An established artist, he usually works in a figurative style as his sparse but moving pieces most often depict women,
however this still life is a rare edition, brimming with a simple story. He began drawing at a young age and later studied at the École des Arts Decoratifs, training under Beianchon, Leguelt, and Oudet.
Since 1951 Jean Jansem has exhibited around the world, and his paintings form a part of collections in museums worldwide. He has held exhibitions of his work in France (Paris, Amiens, Nantes, Avignon, Marseille, Nancy, Toulouse, Cannes, Mulhouse,
Bayonville, Clermont-Ferrand...) and in other countries and major cities like Rome, Palermo, Lausanne, New-York, Chicago, Palm Beach, London, Brussels, Montréal, Tokyo, Osaka, Beirut, Sao Paolo, Johannesburg, Germany, Art Expo New York and Los
Angeles.
Original works and multi-media limited edition prints by Jean Jansem are available for purchase at important art galleries worldwide; and his works can be found in many museum collections.
