Bay of Naples ("La Baia di Napoli") with Vesuvius Erupting Beyond

Our newest offering is this unusual original oil on board painting executed with a very impressionistic style; somewhere between Classic and Modern. This work is considered Early 20th Century Italian School, Oil on Masonite board (used since the 1920's).

Italian in origin, this work was purchased in Italy some 40 years ago and is  signed in the lower right corner. The work measures 8.25" by 10.25". Condition is excellent with a lot of detailed brushwork with thickly applied oils.  The scene is reminiscent of the many works in the Neapolitan School of the late 19th century.
