Max Papart (1911 - 1994) is considered one of the
foremost master printers of the 20th century. His creative genius spans over half a century. Working in a highly structured cubistic style, Papart would challenge himself by resolving diverse and seemingly contradictory elements into unified and
balanced compositions.

Paris stated that his aquatints were some of the most significant prints being made in France during this era. Max Papart's collections and exhibitions include Foundation Maeght, France, Victoria and Albert Museum, the French Bibliotheque National,
Indianapolis Museum of Art, New Orleans Museum of Art, Yale University, Israel Museum, and the Musee Municipal de St. Paul-de-Vence. And are an important acquisition of many collectors, universities, and museums.
